A horse, lost in the reality of its situations, beaten down by everyone around it without a friend in the world. The horse feels oppressed, but it doesn’t know what to do. The horse doesn’t have the strength to break free without help.
This song is about becoming numb to the world. It’s about seeing life go by without you, as if your watching a movie in fast forward. The horse is not a part of reality. The horse is an outcast. A lost soul, searching for some shared hope in the darkness of horse society. The lyrics “be more like me and less like you” and “put under the pressure of walking in your shoes” is the horse’s way of saying that it wishes to do as it wants with their life, not have it ruled over by the expectations of the other horses and equestrians.
Also the lyrics “can’t you see that you’re smothering me, holding to tightly afraid to lose control” shows how this horse wants to be able to express itself and to not be held back and formed into something they are not. “Every step that I take is another mistake to you,” tells us how although it tries, the horse is just shot down.
In this music video, this is shown in the look of apathy on the face of the horse while its rider is directing it where to go next. The horse just wants to be saved from its despair, but no matter how hard the horse tries, no one is there to pull it out of its mundane existence.
It’s all about feeling trapped in ones own life by the people and pressures around us.
please do not be alarmed.
we are about to engage… the nozzle.
please do not move while the nozzle is engaging.
moving will disrupt calibration of… the nozzle.
please wait while we calibrate… the nozzle.
please do not look away from… the nozzle.
the nozzle is now calibrating…
the nozzle is still calibrating…
the nozzle has completed calibration.
thank you.
